Emily Blunt hides her makeup-free face behind oversized sunglasses

She's an actress by trade.

And at Los Angeles airport on Thursday Emily Blunt attempted to disguise herself as just another passenger.

The 31-year-old English actress tried to fly under the radar with oversized dark sunglasses and a casual ensemble as she landed in Tinseltown.

'I did save her life,' Emily explained. 'We were rehearsing a scene where she's playing the witch and she's supposed to jump onto the table with a cape and everything.

'I just saw this thing happen in slow-motion… You know when you see something awful happen and it's like the sound cuts out, you know?

She continued: 'Meryl Streep's foot got caught in her cape and we just started to watch her slowly topple head-first toward the concrete floor.'

Emily, who gave birth to daughter Hazel in February, revealed to Letterman that she's expecting something nice in return from the legendary star.

Emily and Meryl previously worked together on hit project The Devil Wears Prada but got together this time for the children's musical, which hits theatres Christmas day.

The upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway production melds a number of childhood fairy tales together, with familiar faces Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and Rapunzel sharing the screen.

After Into The Woods, Blunt will star in Sicario, about 'a young female FBI agent joins a secret CIA operation to take down a Mexican cartel boss, a job that ends up pushing her ethical and moral values to the limit', according to IMDb.

She will join forces with Benecio Del Toro, Josh Brolin and Jon Bernthal for the crime drama due next year.
